Princess Margriet and Ambassador Helfand Visit Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery

On Monday, 3rd May 2021, Her Royal Highness, Princess Margriet, Her Excellency, Canadian Ambassador Lisa Helfand and the Mayor of Berg an Dal, Mark Slinkman, visited Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery.

The Stichting 'Faces to Graves' organised a photo exhibition 'The Faces of Groesbeek'.  This photo exhibition, originally planned for the Dutch Liberation 75th anniversary events last year, aims to put a face to every name at the cemetery. The exhibition will run from the 6th till 17th May, 2021.

The project was made possible with the help of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the Municipality of Berg en Dal and many sponsors, including NCCC members.

Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery was built by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The CWGC honours and cares for the men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the First and Second World Wars, ensuring that their 'lives liveth for evermore' and they will never be forgotten.
