80th Anniversary Commemoration of the Liberation of the Netherlands by the Canadian Armed Forces

The people of the Netherlands are forever grateful for the significant role Canada played in the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War. Canada’s tremendous sacrifice for our peace and freedom must never be forgotten.

In the spring of 2025, the organisers plan to unveil a poignant outdoor exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands and express our heartfelt gratitude to Canada and its people.

A TRIBUTE

A Canadian soldier is welcomed by liberated Dutch people at the end of the second world warThis exhibition will seamlessly blend photography, storytelling, and sculptural elements to create a compelling experience as you follow an outdoor parkland trail that mirrors the liberation route into the Netherlands.

Step into the powerful narratives of 20 Dutch individuals who were children during the liberation and the heroic stories of 20 Canadian soldiers who played a crucial role in liberating 20 cities in the Netherlands.

The tribute will be set up in Arsenal Park in Mississauga, Ontario and run for the month of May.
