Have you ever thought about investing in Canada or expanding/exporting your goods or services there? Where would you begin? And what are the legal aspects that you need to consider? Are you curious about what the different Provinces can offer?  Then this event is for you. You can talk to representatives of some of the Canadian Provinces and meet the trade delegation from Ontario.

The Ontario delegation will feature 5 presentations;

Denise Robertson (Mills & Mills): Denise will talk about the practical aspects of establishing a business in Canada.  Considerations to be addressed range from selection of the appropriate jurisdiction to rules about who may serve as directors and officers and who may be issued shares to requirements for a Registered Office, for operating in multiple provinces and for ongoing corporate maintenance of the new entity.

Shawn Bausch (SB Advisors): Shawn will discuss the tax implications of doing business in Canada through a Canadian corporation or through a non-Canadian corporation, including tax liabilities and reporting obligations.

Jeff Chorlton (Flexserv): Jeff will talk about the internal accounting that will be required for a company incorporated in Canada.  As well, he will discuss important Human Resource considerations as the Canadian company is staffed.

Simon Strauss (Simon Strauss Paralegal): Simon will talk about workplace safety obligations of businesses operating in Canada, whether they are Canadian corporations or foreign.

Sean Smith (Waterloo EDC): Sean will talk about what the Waterloo region has to offer companies.
