Congratulations to the Women’s Business Initiative International (WBII) on the upcoming March 16th celebration of their 20th anniversary in the Netherlands!

As a not-for-profit foundation led entirely by a volunteer board (representing 6 countries) and supported by volunteer members, the WBII has for the past 20-years, offered a dependable and empowering community to guide both international and Dutch women in starting and running their own businesses. The WBII was the first business incubator for women in The Hague. WBII is now a leading network in women’s entrepreneurship, diversity, equality, and inclusion.

Through the 20th Anniversary Celebration, the WBII is showcasing their members’ achievements in the community and providing female role models for others to demonstrate the fantastic benefits of our multicultural and multi-sectoral collaboration. For women who have recently arrived in The Hague or are considering moving there,
the WBII continues to offer a supportive start for those who lack a local community to build upon. WBII has effectively become a resource where people can turn for support
when work opportunities prove limiting and they are drawn to doing something else they care about.

Three top speakers have been confirmed for the event, including:
Ms. Suzy Ogé, WBII Founder, who will be traveling from abroad to share her memories about starting WBII;
o Professor Erik Stam of the University of Utrecht, who is an expert in economics and entrepreneurship, and will address the topic of ‘The Missing Entrepreneurs’;
o Ms. Cecillia Thorfinn, Acting Head of Representation of the European Commission in The Netherlands. Before working for the European Commission, Cecillia was a WBII member and starting entrepreneur. She will address how her entrepreneurial skills developed nearly 20-years ago have helped to guide her in her current work.
