07 Jul Brewery Tour and BBQ a Great Success

As has become a tradition over the last few years, we start the summer with a social program. On July 3rd, we had a private event at Bunnikbier Brewery in Gouda. We celebrated Canada Day, said cheers to our new Prime Minister, Mr Mark Carney, and toured this innovative Brewery. That was followed by a tasting of 5 beers; 1 of which was their Sup Canadian Red.
Initially, the beer was made and sold for a friend of the owner who was going to compete in the https://www.yukon1000.org/ on a sup board. She did this to raise extra awareness for the plastic pollution in canals and seas. One of the things she does is clean up the canals in Gouda by use of her sup board, but to be able to travel to Canada for this race, she needed to raise money. The brewery sold her a special batch of beer which had been infused with Canadian maple syrup. She sold the batch at a profit so that she could invest in this journey.
Exclusively for this event, the brewery made another batch of this very tasty beer.
A BBQ followed with salads and Julie's famous home-made Spinach Dip. To finish off the day, we were treated to Melanie's home-made Tiramisu and Eaton Mess - equally famous and very delicious.

Editors note;
The Sup Canadian Red was delicious. If you would like to buy some, you can go to the brewery and purchase directly. It's well worth it!
